From Pai in Thailand to Luang Prabang in Loas was a 3 day trip. Day 1: minivan for 9 hours to Chiang Kong on the Thai/Loas border. This picture was at 10am on day 2 after we crossed the border into Laos - its at the start of a 2 day trip on the "Slow Boat" down the Mekong river to Luang Prabang; packed with backpackers; on hard cramped wooden seats; for an excrutiating 6 hours the first day and 8 hours the second.
